VoIP Conferencing Troubleshooting
- Are
you using an Internet Explorer browser? Version 5.0 or higher?
Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher is also needed as your default browser.
Note: If you are using AOL as your Internet provider, you can connect with
AOL but then launch Internet Explorer to enter the Online Auditorium.
If you do not have Internet Explorer
and use the AOL browser, your microphone will mostly likely not work, but
you should be able to hear just fine.
Foxfire does seem to work, however time will tell.
- XP
users - did the system ask you to allow an Active X setting? If so, you will need to “allow” in
order to enter the room. Additionally check your ActiveX Settings
- Any
user not getting a response to filling out the entrance form… Please click to check
your Active X settings
- Firewalls: Certain firewall's may require you to
allow the Voice Software particularly the Windows XP and Norton
firewall's. Look for: chatterbox client

A Few Extras
We suggest (particularly if you are on dial up) that
you close all programs (including e-mail) while you are in the Online
Auditorium. You might consider
disabling your virus scanner (providing your email client is closed) during the
class time only. Turn off extra
programs in your lower right corner “sys tray” that are not needed. These programs consume a great deal of
computer resources and will affect the quality of your receiving and sending of
voice transmission.
